Jordan Natan Hochenbaum is a experienced leader with a demonstrated history of building B2B/B2C products and services at scale. Goal-oriented polyglot able to speak the language of both engineering and product/design, with extensive practical experience leading engineering and product development in alignment with strategic initiatives to drive bottom and top-line growth. Passionate about product development, team building, management, and planning, with a focus on Engineering (machine learning/AI + application development) cloud infrastructure, agile development, and design thinking. 10+ years of experience in applied machine learning and artificial intelligence, implementing novel algorithms from the ground up as a researcher and data scientist, and helping bring dozens of products to market as Chief Technology Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Creative Officer, VP Engineering, and Executive Vice President. His personal projects leverage machine learning in the arts and music he’s released over 20 records on renowned electronic music labels and regularly perform/DJ internationally. He’s worked on large-scale immersive environments for clients like RedBull, data sonification, generative audio-visual systems, and more. His installations and public artworks challenge our relationship to technology and have been exhibited in New York, London, Paris, and Los Angeles. Jordan received his Ph.D. in March 2013. His research applied multimodal signal processing & machine learning to music and sensors capturing data from the physical world. Since then he’s worked as a research scientist at Twitter, developed multitouch technology for immersive AR at Nokia Research, co-authored a popular book on the Arduino, was awarded the Leonardo Fellowship and Aspen Ideas Scholar/Fellow, and has consulted on machine learning for high profile video games and tech industry. His work has been featured online and in print, including Wired, Computer Arts, Make, XLR8R, Resident Advisor, The Creators Project, Processing.org, and Rhizome.org, to name a few. He’s published dozens of technical papers in preeminent international publications, spanning the fields of music, art, human-computer interaction, cloud computing, and engineering.
