Horizon
In anticipation of the decline of the big data era The Noise Index proposes Horizon: a series of computer-generated works functioning as blueprints towards a monument commemorating the apex of the information era. Horizon welcomes a reflection on the contemporary state of informational hunger, in a time when our perceptive apparatus is deeply mediated by personal computing. Consider the computer as a finely tuned clock, Horizon functions as a microscope amplifying the infinitesimal errors of the systems highest priority threaded timers on the CPU (Central Processing Unit) in order to visually integrate them into its landscape metaphor. Through it's portrayal of a horizontal stillness, Horizon addresses the possibility of a sense of place within our digitally echoing world. More information here.- _MG_5684

Convergence
Convergence is an installation that presents a sonic impression of information saturation, with increased access to information being represented as an increased level of noise. The concept of Convergence was chosen as a metaphor for the implications of data consumption via the Internet. Using a text-to-speech system, real-time trending tweets from Twitter are synthesized into sound, and converged into a central location where the sum of the information may be experienced by an individual. Created in collaboration with Owen Vallis and Jasmin Blasco as part of The Noise Index project. More information here. -
Weather Report
An installation which sonifies real-time weather data, based on virtual paths ("trips") drawn by users using tangible objects on the surface's screen. Made in collaboration with Owen Vallis. More information on Weather Report here.
